Site Prep & Land Prep

**Site Preparation: Foundations, Utilities, and Permits**

When designing your Amish Built Cabin, you took the time to ensure everything was perfect. Now, it's equally important to invest time and effort into properly preparing your site. Proper site preparation ensures your cabin has a solid, level foundation, making delivery and setup as smooth as possible.

For every cabin purchased, we provide a detailed schematic that outlines the foundation we expect to see when we arrive. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you prepare your site for your new Amish Built Cabin:

### Step-by-Step Cabin Site Preparation Guide

**1. Site Selection**
Choose a location that meets local zoning regulations and offers easy access to utilities. Consider natural features, accessibility, and overall suitability for residential construction.

**2. Permitting and Zoning**
Before starting any site work, ensure you have all necessary permits and comply with local zoning laws. Submit permit applications in advance and meet all requirements to avoid delays.

**3. Clearing and Grading**
Clear your site of any vegetation, debris, or obstacles. Grade the land to ensure it is level, with proper drainage to prevent water buildup around the foundation.

**4. Utility Connections**
Make sure utilities like water, electricity, and sewage (or septic systems) are available and properly connected to your site. If these utilities are not already in place, installation will need to be arranged.

**5. Foundation Preparation**
The foundation is crucial for supporting your modular cabin. Based on your choice (crawl space, full basement, or slab), have the foundation footings and formwork installed before the cabin’s arrival.

**6. Access Roads and Driveways**
Ensure there’s clear access to your site by creating or improving access roads and driveways. This allows for easy transportation of materials and delivery of your cabin.

**7. Environmental Considerations**
If your site is in a sensitive area, you may need to conduct environmental assessments and take necessary mitigation measures before building.

**Your Responsibility Before Delivery**
You are responsible for completing these site preparation steps before your cabin can be delivered. Everything must be in place before scheduling your delivery day to ensure a smooth setup process.
